Putter Performance

Callaway Golf Company

West Lafayette, IN

Project Description:

This project investigates the performance characteristics of zero-torque putters during real putting strokes. Students will work with motion-capture data and accelerometer sensor measurements collected during putter player testing. The objective is to quantify how torque-balanced putters behave across different stroke types and player profiles, identify measurable differences in stroke dynamics, and determine which fitting variables most strongly correlate with improved performance. The project may include modeling stroke patterns, comparing traditional vs. zero-torque designs, and developing insights to support future fitting protocols and product development.
